Day 1
Arrival in Bucharest, transfer to hotel. Dinner & overnight.
Day 2
Departure to Poiana Brasov with a first stop at the famous Sinaia Resort. Visit the Peles Castle (the summer residence of the former Romanian royal family) and Sinaia Monastery. On the way to the medieval city of Brasov. City tour with a main stop at the Black Church that houses a priceless collection of Oriental rugs as well as a 4000 - pipe organ. Overnight in Poiana Brasov.
Day 3
Leave for Targu Mures via Sighisoara, the best preserved medieval citadel in Europe - the only one still inhabited. Short city tour. Continue onto Targu Mures for dinner & overnight.
Day 4
On the way to Suceava , located at the crossroads of important trade routes connecting Central and Northern Europe to the Black Sea, visit two monasteries with outside frescoes (Voronet and Humor). Often called "the Sixtine Chapel of the East", Voronet's frescoes are painted in a unique shade of blue known to painters throughout the world as Voronet Blue. Sightseeing tour of Suceava , including the Citadel. Overnight.
Day 5
Today's itinerary takes you to the best known painted monasteries in all of Romania: Sucevita and Moldovita. Afternoon drive to Iasi - the old capital city of Moldavia. Overnight.
Day 6
Also called "the City on the Seven Hills", Iasi is truly a crossroads for almost every aspect of life in Eastern Europe. Touring the city you'll see both the Galata or Trei Ierarhi Monasteries and Great Sinagogue (or Palace of Culture) . Overnight.
Day 7
Departure to Vrancea County - Romania's main wine production region. Lunch and wine-tasting in Odobesti. Departure for Bucharest. Overnight.
Day 8
A four-hour tour of Bucharest is the perfect way to familiarize you with this five-century old city. You'll visit ancient ruins as well as the more recent historical monuments: Old Princely Court, the Village Museum, the Cotroceni Palace, and the Athenaeum. You also have the opportunity to see the massive reconstruction of Bucharest that took place in Ceausescu's last years in power, including the awe-inspiring House of the Republic, nowadays the Parliament Palace. Overnight.
Day 9: Transfer to the airport.

Putna Monastery
The area of Putna Monastery and its surroundings had been an anchoritic location long before Stephen the Great, the famous voivode of Moldavia, had one of his most important foundings constructed on this site. According to the chronicles of the period, work on the construction of the Putna Monastery commenced in June 1466, and was completed 1469ereas the consectrationof the m monastic establishment took place one year later, namely on September 8, 1470.
Worthy of note is the fact that the Putna Monastery was an important centre of culture.
Sucevita Monastery
Sucevita monastery was founded by the members of the Movilescu family. The interior and exterior paintings belongs to the masterly brush of two Moldavian master painters - Ioan Zugravul and his brother Sofronie. the interior pais illustrates several scenes of the Genesis and of the life of Moses, while the exterior paintings, which embellish the northern part, illustrate Saint John Climacus's Ladder of Divine Ascent".
Voronet Monastery
Voronet Monastery came into being in the year 1488. It was founded by Stephen the Great Voivode. Worthy of note is the fact that the holy establishment was constructed over a period of only three months and twenty-one days. Voronet Monastery paintings were done against a dark blue background hich is known the whole world over as "the blue of Voronet"), are characterized by outstanding qualities in terms of compasition, such as the great vigour of contours, the clarity of expression, and the monumentaly of the frescoes.
